Founded in 2025, we are an Afro-diasporic Non-Profit Organization dedicated to democratizing AI Education and empowering vulnerable African villages, guiding them towards lasting autonomy. Our platform allows for real-time tracking of project funding, achievement, and performance through dedicated dashboards.
Our Story
The Yamssi Foundation began not with a grand plan, but with a simple, powerful belief: Innovation begins with chasing the right problem to solve. This is the cornerstone of our work and has been the guiding principle for our founder, Merlin Yamssi.
As a member of the African diaspora who built a successful career in technology, Merlin witnessed a world of breathtaking innovation moving at lightning speed. He felt a growing conviction that the tools and knowledge driving this progress were not reaching the communities that could benefit from them the most, particularly in rural Africa.
Driven by this call to action, he founded the Yamssi Foundation. The name "Yamssi," meaning "to believe" or "to have faith" in his native language, reflects our core mission: to place our faith in the potential of every individual and to empower them with the infrastructure, technology and education needed to build their own brighter futures.

We envision a future where all African villages, especially the most marginalized, are integrated into a connected, sustainable, and thriving world.
Our initial focus is Cameroon, where we are working to bridge the infrastructure, energy, connectivity and education gap, ensuring no village is left behind.
